Wow World Boss Timers: Everything You Need to Know About Rare Bosses and Their Loot



I agree that mop world boss mounts should have their drop rate increased because the drop rate was insanely low (0.05) 2000 + kills. Ive been farming them for 10 years without any joy. However i don't think blizzard should adjust all old rare drop rates or make old mounts token based like you suggest. There is no justification to make something free just because it is 5 years old. That would ruin the collecting fun for mount collectors and you wouldn't appreciate the mount anyway if it was very easy to get. If they adjust any other drop rates it should purely be mounts below 1%


World Boss Notifier is a new, convenient take on Boss Timers, instead of keeping track of countless timers, just sit back, relax, and be notified when each boss is about to start. When an Boss event is about to start, a elegant and unobstructive notification box will appear informing you of the Boss name, of how long until it starts and where it'll take place. By clicking on the location, a code of the closest waypoint will be copied to your clipboard, so you can conveniently paste it on the in-game chat and teleport to it. You can customize how long before you want to be notified, where the notifications appear and if they play a sound when appear. You can also mark the bosses you already defeated, so you don't receive notifications from that boss until the next day.

I know this has been brought up before but now is as good a time as any to bring it up again since blizzzard is finally listening to players feedback. Old world bossses need to have their spawn timers set to 5 minutes. Pretty much anyone who farms mounts will tell you the pain of almost getting to an old world boss for it to die right before you can tag it and knowing you have to wait 30 mins for another chance. You arent doing anything productive in the game now for 30 minutes because if you go for another one chances are its going to happen again or when you kill that one you wont have time to make it back to the first one. Right now blizzard needs to be doing everything in their power to make fun content to keep us invested. Not ways to keep us wasting time in the game while not actually doing anything because that ends up causing burn out from boredom. This change takes nothing from anyone and only increases the value of the players time. Now i also believe blizzard needs to implement an account wide counter for old content mounts so when you kill the target a certain ammount of times and still have not received the mount the next time is a guranteed drop. That will have to be a topic for after they lower the spawn timers. RNG is a fine system but it should not be the only system. There should always be a guranteed way to aquire everything in this game.

Low drop rate, BUT when you farm a boss, you collect a coin. After 100 kills, you can just go and buy the mount with the coins basically. That is VERY reasonable. It allows the players to actually move on and see the entire game rather than be stuck for years on the same place.


Oh really, hhhhmmmmm, i have been been playing this game since 2006. I currently have over 574 mounts, over a dozen chars lvl 50 and 4 currently 60. I have killed multiple world bosses and raids bosses 100s if not 1000 of times and have not received certain mounts. I am not asking to give me it after killing a boss once. I am asking for 2 things, make it so im not sitting around doing nothing for 30 mins while waiting for a world boss to spawn and set aquire limits on things like old content mounts. With the current % you can literally kill these guys every week till this game eventually closes down and still never receive the mount. We need less trolls in this game an more support and respect for peoples money and more importantly time.


Rukhmar has a 15 min spawn timer. Sha of Anger has a 10-20 min spawn timer and a short period where everybody can tag him before he starts taking damage. No one can time it so these bosses are still alive when you fly in.


Not true. I have never bought anything off the BMAH. I have 3 of those mounts. The only way to improve your chance of getting it is with an army of alts. On Pandaren world bosses in particular, bonus rolls count. I got the nalak mount on a bonus roll.

Not a bug. Back in MoP Sha of Fear was supposed to be the easily accessible world boss, and Oondasta was supposed to be the harder to access boss. Sha of Fear therefore had a slightly random respawn timer in order to make it hard to predictably tag it, and Oondasta spawned very rarely.


CRZ made rare mobs even more rare. When they set up spawn timers on the rare mobs way back when they each had their own timer on their own server. Now that same rare mob has one timer split over dozens of servers.


In order to earn the achievement players must kill the four different elemental lord bosses that spawn in their respective invasion points. The four bosses are the Rumbling Earth Lord, Raging Fire Lord, Unbridled Storm Lord, and Glacial Ice Lord. 2ff7e9595c
